Awkward

1) The fact that I am JUST NOW posting pics of the 30 pieces/pairs of shoes that I am using for the 30 for 30 challenge.

2) Squinty eyes.  They are fine when I'm inside...they're a bit small, but they work.  However, when it is a sunny day and I am trying to take pictures I always end up looking like some sort of rodent who lives in the dark!  I must work on my Tyra Banks WIDE EYED look!
3) That I can't count! I have never been a numbers person.  Somehow I ended up with only 26 pieces below.  I guess I now can add in a few more shoe options!  Yay shoes!

Awesome

1) Lovely summer days.  Yesterday it was a fabulous 65 degrees and sunny as I did my morning run.  It was perfect.

2)  Running is getting easier.  As noted above, I enjoyed my run the other day.
3) Only NINE DAYS and 17 hours before I make it to Vegas and get to see Shea Babe!!!

1. Losing pictures!  Somehow I lost my day 1 pictures of my 30 x 30 outfits.  I'll re-do it though.  It was a lovley mono-chromatic pink look!

2.   Being behind posting my choices for the Kendi Everyday 30 x 30 challenge.  I'll get that done this weekend hopefully!

Awesome

1.  Picking your clothes for the challenge carefully.  I took quite a bit more care this time ensuring that options would work well together. 

2.  The weekend!  Yay! It's almost here ;).

First Few Days of the Challenge

On Day 2 I wore an Antonio Melani Dress and Banana Republic Brown Jacket.

On day 3 I wore an Antonio Melani jacket, Apt. 9 skirt, and INC white blouse with cut-outs.  I wore black Nine West pumps.

Awkward & Awesome Thursday

I know we've missed a few weeks.  But I caught up on my reading of The Day Book this week, and I wanted get back on the Awkward & Awesome bandwagon.  Sydnei at The DayBook hosts Awkward & Awesome Thursdays.

Awkward

1) Reading one of your fave blogs and realizing that you missed something!  Now they're pregnant!  I really enjoyed reading Sydnei's The Day Book.  I guess I had missed it for a few weeks.  She must have announced somewhere in there that she's pregnant!

2) Forgetting your tripod.  I really enjoy stopping by Old Town here in Wichita on my way to work to take outfit pics.  Things were quite hectic for me for awhile there.  So I was taking my pics at home.  This morning I decided to buck the rend and take one in Old Town.  Alas, I forgot my tripod.  Not to be dissuaded from meeting my goal, I put my camera on a cement wall and made a go of it.  I think I got a few decent ones ;).

 

Awesome

1) Making your own wine!  Joshy and I are heading out to Grace Hill Winery tomorrow for the Make Your Own Wine event!  They will have barrels of their basic wines and we get to mix them to come up with our own signature house blend.  Speaking of...I need to send them a good picture of us!

2) Working from home.  Next week Joshy gets to work from home all week!  Joshy normally travels during the week Mondays through Thursdays.  I'm so excited to have him around all week!


3) Kendi Everyday's 30 x 30 challenge! Kendy's new 30 x 30 challenge will be starting June 13th which is this coming Monday!  Shea and I vowed that we would be much more careful choosing our items this time around.  So I will definitely be starting the choosing process tonight.  Shea is actually not going to participate this time around because she is coming to see ME!!! She is also coming for her sister's wedding...which will be cool.  But I ALSO GET to have an AWESOME time with her in LAS VEGAS!!!


4) Shea and I (and our hubbies) will be in Las Vegas in less than a month!

1. Having my hair blow in my face while trying to take pictures!

2. Having to tell clients that I need to look into the law on an issue.  I hope someday I am able to do that less often.

3. Family arguments.  Drama is so lame!

4. Spring allergies.  I am not a fan of being woken up at 3:30 a.m. by a runny nose.

Awesome

1.  The weekend!  Joshy and I are traveling to the exciting Omaha, Nebraska for the Annual Shareholder Meeting of Berkshire Hathaway.  Hopefully we will learn some of the genius of Warren Buffet and be able to invest wisely.  Also, we should get some awesome DQ Blizzards!  Berkshire has booths for each of the businesses that they own some part of.  

2.  Sweet mother-in-laws.  Joshy's parents came to town last weekend for Easter.  I am still eating the amazing food that she made for us.

3.  Spring!  I love the sunshine and warmth.  Being able to enjoy my backyard patio is fab.

Today I'm wearing a black Express blazer with an abstract print dress from Dillard's.  It's still a bit chilly here so I wore some black Talbot's tights and black Nine West pumps.  I just got some new accessories from Shea's etsy shop!  I love the jolly rancher bracelet and clear glass earrings with specs of color!

Awkward

1) When you email an acquaintance on Facebook letting them know you will be coming to town and they don't respond.  Is it because they don't want to hang out?  Or, are they just not Facebook people?  Should you email them again? Annoying...and awkward.

2) Packing in a wee bag.  I like to have many clothing options when on vacation.  I really hate how you have to try and cram all of your things into a carry-on now to avoid a $20.00 fee. 

3) Packing for 50 to 60 degree weather.  I normally go for layers.  But it would be nice if the weather could just pick an option!  Be warm or cold!

Awesome

1) Traveling!  Joshy and I are hanging out in L.A. this weekend!  So that's the reason I won't have any outfits to post here for the next few days.  Sorry for the silence!

1) Dealing with intimate personal details of other people's lives as a part of your job!

2) Being a bag lady.  I don't know why, but I carry so many bags!  I always have a huge purse, now I have my camera bag with several lenses in it.  I often have a gym bag or lunch with me too!  I must look so odd walking into my office building. 

3) My client telling me that I must settle his lawsuit!  His wife apparently hasn't slept with him since the lawsuit started.  He will be lucky if they are only separated rather than divorced by the end of it.  So sad. 

Awesome

1) Grandparents coming to town! Apparently my grandparents have some birthday present for me that they think I can enjoy on my trip with Hubbs next week to California!  So they are coming tomorrow!

2) Traveling to California next week! I hope that it's warm!

3) My first deposition!  Yes, it's a bit sad that I have been out 1.5 years and am just now doing a deposition.  I had the opportunity to second-char a trial.  That was awesome.  So this is a bit of a step back.  But, an exciting step back all the same.  

I will update this with some of my outfits lately later tonight!

1) When you've just finished having a good bitch session about someone and then realise that they probably heard everything you said

2) Trying to decide if I can go without shoes on April 4th! Tom's One Day Without Shoes is coming up on April 4th.  I'm not sure how the judge would feel about my not wearing shoes in the courtroom ; (.

3) Organizing our garage last weekend we had to move all of our stuff outside.  TWO people came buy and offered to buy various items.  Apparently our organizing looked like a garage sale!
4) I was talking to a colleague about his travels. When asked what he does in the evenings for fun, he responded that he looks around stores, browses book stores and watches porn.  Nice.  Thanks for sharing.

Awesome!

1) Realising it is a lot warmer outside than you thought it was!

2) New ways to make grilled cheese!  With this method you put bread in the oven with cheese on top.  You can put a slice of tomato and turkey under the cheese for extra protein and veggies!

3) It's almost the weekend!

What I've Been Wearing Lately

 This is a green Antonio Melanie dress with a Merona Yellow cardigan and Milly snake print flats from Scarpasa.  I decided to wear the green belt that goes with the dress on the outside of the cardigan to better define the waist.  For acessories I wore my Michael Kors watch and glass bead earrings from Shea Babe's etsy store!

This is a Spense dress from Dillard's, pink Rampage cardigan and my large Flintstones style pearl's from H & M.  I got to attend a KMUW "Music Tasting" about the Wichita Jazz Festival.  Apparently it has been going on since the 1970's.

1) Celebrating St. Patty's Day!  I'm not a huge beer fan, but any celebration of Irishness is lovely.  My grandma was born on St. Patrick's Day so I pray for her soul on St. Patrick's Day.  Also, Shea lives in Ireland! So I'm sure she's having an awesome time today.

2) Snickers Cupcakes.  I decided to make some for my work peeps today.  They are devil's food cake + bite size snickers on the inside.  Obviously I added green sprinkles for St. Patty's Day!

3) The warm sunshine.  I enjoyed some relaxing time on our back patio last night.  It as lovely to feel the warm wind blowing on my bare legs! 

Awkward

1) Having to make important calls on my own!  We have a large client at our firm.  My boss trusted me to get a letter out to a county zoning admin for this big company (our client).  The letter was fairly simple, but as I got into it I realized there was a bit of a snag! I decided to stick with my boss's conclusion and ask him about the issue this morning.  Turns out it was the right call.  Yay for not getting too creative!

2) Old guys that stare at me.  Anyone that stares at me for that matter.  In my spinning (cycling) class there is an older guy that is pretty nice.  But today he was staring at me the WHOLE time.  Lame.  Maybe I looked odd for some reason.

3) When people walk by as I am taking pictures.  I am pretty good about acting like I'm cool.  I try to make eye contact and then keep going. But, I always end up rushing through the shots after the interruption.

Outfits lately

After my weekend of traveling to Garden City, KS then across the state to Kansas City, Kansas I was exhausted.  So Monday was a glasses day.  I wore a Gap striped button down under a pink J. Crew sweater.  The pants are Victoria's Secret straight leg.  The shoes are Nurture. 

On Wednesday I wore my plaid dress from Century 21 in Long Island, NY.  Century 21 has a lot of great deals on designer stuff.  It was still a bit cold yesterday so I did some layering.  I wore the dress with my black Express turtleneck, Calvin Klein tights and red Nine West Shoes.  For accessories I wore the pearls my grandma had made for me. 

For St. Patty's Day I tried to work in a bit of green with my jacket and accessories.  I wore a Jones NY jacket with a dark brown Antonio Melani dress.  I love the cowl neck of this dress.  I can't bring myself to wear a necklace with it for fear of distracting from the lovely neckline! My shoes are a recent purchase from Scarpasa.  They were on sale!  You can still purchase this exact style here.
