Bejeweled

I purchased this Apt. 9 (brand at Kohl's) dress via ebay.  I love the pattern, but the large purple jewels were a bid of a surprise! It's hard to see all of the details in those pics!  I wore the maxi dress, and sandals.  I also did a bit of an updo for my casual Friday look.  It's called the "braided roll-up" you can learn how to do it on "The Rose Record".

Loud Paisley

I purchased this Inc. dress on ebay.  It was a chilly day so I wore black tights and Nine West pink pumps.  I also added a green cardigan.

James Arthur Vineyard

I also went with my grandparents to a fundraising event at James Arthur vineyard in Raymond, Nebraska which is Northwest of Lincoln.   I loved the Frontenec red wine they had.  I wore a Calvin Klein dress and Nine West nude pumps. 

Omaha Riverboat tour

My grandparents came up for Grandparent's day not long ago.  We had a great time learning more about Omaha on the River City Star steamboat tour.  My grandparents are 83 and 85! I think're looking pretty good!  It's starting to get a bit cooler here.  I wore J. Crew corduroy pants, an Ann Taylor creme top and Liz Claiborne NY striped sweater from Ebay.

Peachy

Here is another day of styling my hair with the curling wand.  I love the peach colors of this top and skirt.  I wore this H&M knotted silk top and creme skirt with polka-dot and leaf pattern.  I also wore my brown flats from Scarpasa.  

June Cleaver

I felt a bit like June Cleaver in this outfit with my pearls.  I wore a sheer polka-dot top and patterned silk Merona skirt.  I purchased a new curling wand.  I love the curly look that is a bit more crisp than my curls with just some mousse.

Mixed patterns for Tribute

I wore this outfit to the YWCA of Lincoln Tribute event.  I don't normally mix prints, but I thought the touch of polka dot worked with the Ralph Lauren houndstooth sweater jacket.  I wore Sofft black pumps to try and give my feet a break! 

The YWCA of Lincoln Tribute event was amazing.  Sally Gordon was quite a figure in Lincoln, and her family donated her hats, jewelry, clothing, and other items.  The YWCA EnPointe dancers performed quite a bit through the night.  They did such a great job!

Polka Dots galore

The other day I wore a few polka dot items together! I wore Nine West polka dots pumps, an INC silk halter blouse, brown Victoria's Secret pants, and white jacket.  It was such a cool foggy morning when I took these pictures, I thought I would leave the scenery in the picture! 

The last days of white

Does anyone fall the "no white after labor day" rule anymore?  I'm not sure, but I wore this outfit just before labor day.  I wore white pants, blue and white polka dot Talbot's jacket, and green express top with a bow on it.  I added nude pumps to keep it light.  It was a bit dark in my living room this morning. 

Cropped pants

On casual Friday I wore a bow tie tee shirt, purple polka dot Merona cardigan, and blue Ralph Lauren copped pants.  I',m not normally a fan of cropped pants, but I think the blue color makes these fun. Yay for Friday!

black & brown

The other day I wore a black Alfani dress with a brown short sleeve jacket and brown and blue Premier jewelry necklace.  I thought my brown and black Cole Haan pumps brought things together.

New Boots

For casual Friday I wore a J. Crew embellished T-shirt, yellow Merona cardigan from Target, Mossimo skinny jeans from Target and my new Ariat boots! I really enjoy wearing cowboy boots.  I have a pair I found in a vintage shop in Lawrence.  They have become a bit sad.  So I found these new Ariat boots on ebay.  They are so much more comfortable than my other ones! Yay for real quality leather boots.   I added crystal accents.

Anniversary Cont. Golf!

We celebrated our anniversary over two weekends.  The other anniversary celebrations involved golf at Yankee Hill in Lincoln.  I wore a yellow Brazil had, green Old Navy polo, and J. Crew khaki pants.

Anniversary at the Wine and Balloon Festival

For our third anniversary we went to the Wine and Balloon Festival outside of Omaha.  It was too windy for the balloons to take off.  But, they did fill up a few and "light them up" for us.  I wore a dress from forever 21 and a fabric cardigan sweater from Dunn's!  We tried many great wines from Nebraska.  We had a few favorites from Soaring Wines Winery in Springfield, Nebraska.  The Chambourcin and Winter White are great.

Colored skinny jeans

What do you think of colored skinny jeans?  I love the statement they make, but I haven't found many that I love.  This pair of cobalt blue jeans are from Old Navy.  I paired them with a tank I bought in Lawrence with Shea.  I love the colors in the tank and the sequins!  I went out with a new friend at work.  We got tasty burgers and 99 cent margaritas at Don and Millie's in Omaha.  Can you believe it's possible to get an alcoholic beverage for less than a dollar?  They were tasty...and even a bit strong! I felt very good after a few.

Jazz on the Green

My new job is in Omaha.  I've enjoyed learning more about the city and getting to know new friends from work.  I wore a yellow and black sundress for time watching Jazz on the Green.  I love the pleated detail on the straps.  I really enjoyed having some drinks with friends.

Subtle ruffles

I wore this outfit for work the other day.  I love ruffles.  These ruffles are a bit more subtle because they are dark.  This black Express dress has fun ruffle detail. I added the yellow merona cardigan for work.  For accessories I added a turquoise necklace.  This is actually the first time I've worn it.  I think it adds a nice pop of color.

Maxing it out

Maxi dresses look so great on some people.  I often feel too short to wear them.  With a certain pair of tall wedge heels I feel alright though.   For church last Sunday I wore a striped maxi dress from Forever 21, with an Express jean jacket, and wedges.   Apparently I am obsessed with my Morocco necklace.  This time I added the matching earrings.   I also ran some other errands in this dress. One errand included returning 20 pound bags of dirt.  Women in dresses CAN do heavy things....and not get dirty!

Birds of a Feather

For casual Friday I wore this v-neck Tee with a bird on it.  For some reason I think v-neck Tees are more polished in some way.  I added a purple Merona polka-dot cardigan for the office.  I enjoyed the mix of the print and graphic.  My shoes are ballet flats with Indian beading that I purchased during my study abroad time in Cambridge, England.  I love the detail on them.  Unfortunately, they do not offer a lot of padding.  So they aren't ideal for long walks.  These are Victoria Beckham jeans via ebay.

Taste of Mint

I wore this Jones NY tweed dress and mint J. Crew blazer to work.  I love the summery vibe that the jacket adds.  I added some sweet mint earrings to keep with the theme.  My shoes are a new acquisition from Kohl's by Ralph Lauren (on sale!).
