This is Halloween

Happy Halloween!!
I had grand plans to go out last night but unfortunately it didn't happen...had a costume and everything :( Little one wasn't in the mood I think.

So I don't have a cool costume pic for you. Instead, I hope you enjoy this little gem floating around the net....

Sweater dress season

We have had high and low temperatures lately in Kansas.  Last week it was particularly cold.  I decided to wear this super soft cashmere sweater dress by White & Warren that I bought on ebay.  It has a Nieman Marcus tag showing that someone paid much more than I did ;).  I added a patterned jacket from Talbots, black Calvin Klein tights, and patterned Nine West pumps.  I wore a pearl necklace with several strands that my grandma had made for me.

I thought this pic captured a very cool shadow!

Fabulous Friday

Once again, it is time to play "Give it a Miss, Give it a Go or Give it to Me" where I'll post pics of celeb outfits and you can tell me whether you wouldn't wear it (give it a miss), like it and might wear it (give it a go) or love it and want it (give it to me).

Here is this week's contender...Jessica Biel! All pics taken from Go Fug Yourself and you should check out that site too for some very witty stuff!

Shades of Grey

The other day I wore a red cashmere short sleeved sweater with at gray and paisley jumper by Antonio Melani.  I added a Mossimo jacket for work.  I thought red Nine West pumps would be a fun addition to the monochrome look.  I wore two necklaces.  The shorter gray pearls were from my good friend's wedding.  What a fun bridesmaid present!  The other longer grey set is also from her!

InPink summery necklace

You should all enter the Jewel a Day Give away from InPink.  They really do give one thing away a day.  I recieved this lovely summery necklace the other day.  It is coral and a starfish.  I wore a Jones NY dress and coral cardigan from H&M, flats from Scarpasa, a bracelet from a botique in Wichita called Lucinda's, and of course my InPink necklace!

Seeing Red

I bought this dress years ago at UO and loved it because of the unusual straps. I like how you can adjust the length and although I'm not really a fan of red, I just had to have it. It has proven to be very comfy with my bump too :D

The Grey Area

I bought this tunic before I knew I was pregnant so I wasn't sure if it would fit me. It does so far but I think when I get bigger it will look a little silly. This was on sale and I was drawn to it because of the hemline and the sewn up sections of the "skirt." This outfit was really comfy which is a definite plus for me these days!

Missoni

If you missed out on the amazing clothes, accessories, and house wares that the Italian designer/company Missoni partnered to make with Target - don't feel bad.  I did too.  Target's website went down, and I couldn't find anything in my price range that they still had.  I really wanted a piece or two of their luggage!

This Missoni for Target luggage will be easy to spot at the airport! Photo by Target

Elissa over at Dress with Courage went out to her local Target store and scored a few Missoni items including the scarf I wore today!  She generously gave away several Missoni items on her blog.  Elissa also had a very cool interview with Angela and Margarhita Missoni about partnering with Target on her blog.

Brief aside - I'm not a huge fan of wide leg pants.  These pants are exhibit A.  They are comfortable, and great wool.  They just aren't flattering!

Today I wore a Missoni by Target scarf that I pinned to make it into an infinity scarf.  I also wore a sweater with Ralph Lauren blue wool pants, brown tweed sports coat from Banana Republic, and Nine West pumps. My pin was a gift from grandma.

Mixing patterns

Mixing two prints is still not something that comes easily for me.  This outfit seemed like a good idea in my bedroom.  But, I felt a bit silly at work.  At least the Target Merona cardigan and silk patterned skirt both had small print.  I loved the black and gold together.  I love the pleated stop of this skirt and the extra oomph the lining gives the skirt.  It is a bit flouncy!  For accessories I wore a pearl necklace with three strings that peeked from the folds of my go-to silk ruffled camisole. I wore my leopard print Nine West pumps.  I'm not sure this outfit NEEDED any more print, but on they went!

Capes are not just for Batman!

Capes seem to be everywhere right now! I love them.  Luckily I already had this one from Dillard's a few seasons ago.  It is wool, a wintery fabric.  But, the shorter sleeves make it a nice piece for fall too I think.  I wore a bright green Express tee with a fun blow detail underneath.  My pants are black pin-striped from Express.  I wore leopard print Nine West pumps for a fun print accent.  For accessories I wore a Tiffany's silver ball necklace and silver earrings stamped with a cool black design.

Comfy in Leopard Prints

This top is a new purchase but actually not maternity wear. I am wondering what it will be like when don't have a big belly...I bought the size I would normally wear so I guess I'll just have to wait and see. It came with the necklace which is just a simple dark metal chain but it was nice to get something for free! I dared to wear two different leopard print items together but since the jeans are bootcut you can't really see my shoes so I'm not sure it counts :D

A bit blurry but here's a close up of the print of the top!

Textured stripes

The other day I wore a silk J. Crew striped tank with white pants with a subtle tan thin stripes.  I love the modern look of the painted stripes on the top.  For work I added an Antonio Melani suit jacket with white buttons and white stitching details.  I also wore nude pumps from Dillards.  For accessories I wore long J. Crew pearl and gold necklaces

Finally Jeans That Fit!

I've been a little sad that I can't fit into any of my jeans anymore. I have searched lots of places for maternity ones but because I am pregnant AND short it hasn't been a very successful mission...until now! I picked up these lovely bootcut dark wash jeans at Debenhams and they are so comfy! The stretchy waist does go up a little high (covers my entire tummy) but they fit so well I overlooked that issue. For this outfit, I paired them with yet another top from Penneys. I've started working on Thursdays now so my week is getting fuller but it is nice to get out of the house while I still can!

Bow Tie detail

I've really been loving my J. Crew pleated silk skirt lately.  I did not mean to wear the same shoes, but for some reason the black and brown detail of my Cole Haan strappy shoes goes well with the colors int he skirt. The pattern is so fun.  I paired it with a T-Shirt with a Bow detail on it.  I think it looks kind of like a tie!  I wore a black Banana Republic blazer with the outfit at work.

Floral Frenzy

Penneys has provided me with some of my favourite items of clothing. Sometimes it can be frustrating to shop there because their sizing is not uniform..a size 8 might fit more like a size 10. The fitting room lines are usually rrrreeeaaalllyy long as well so this adds to the problem of wondering "even though I have what my size should be, will this fit properly?" before making a purchase. Luckily, they have a great return policy. I had to return this dress, go up a size and try on 2 different dresses in the same size before I got one that fit well. But for 13euros I'm not complaining. It is really comfy and colourful! The boots are also from Penneys and you may notice the price tag is still on them (25euros). That's because I'm debating whether or not to keep them. Hubby said they make him think of wrestling which I sort of agree with but they are flat and reasonably comfortable and I don't own a pair of lace up boots. What do you think, keep them or take them back?
