Summertime is Definitely Over

This pic was actually taken a few weeks ago and I forgot to post it then. It is WAY too cold to be wearing this outfit now! I think I had my hair rolled up into a ball on the top of my head here. It sorta looks ridiculous because it's so big! This is another attempt at 'leggings as pants' for me...I think this also worked out well :D You can see my little one getting shade from the sun in his fishermans hat ha ha!

Happy Halloween!!

I hope you have a spooky day today! Last week at work I had a pumpkin carving morning with some of the members. It was the first time they had ever carved a pumpkin and they really enjoyed it! I decided to make use of the leftover pieces and make them some pumpkin pie for the monthly social we were having a few days later. I've never made pumpkin pie with real puree...always the canned Libbys filling. I was nervous I wouldn't be able to get it to taste as sweet. Well, there was no reason to fear. They came out awesome and here's the link to the recipe I used. I originally wanted to do the bite sized ones on Bakerella but coudn't find a mini muffin tin and wanted to use evaporated milk instead of cream cheese. I'm really excited to know that if my annual Thanksgiving care package doesn't make it from home then I can improvise with some real pumpkins :D

You Forgot Your Pants!

I don't often wear leggings as pants, in fact I can count the times on one hand. Even in this outfit I'm not sure it qualifies (well obviously it counts since I'm not standing in my knickers!) because my top is long so it's covering up my bum. I think my issue with wearing leggings as pants is that I just don't feel comfortable having my 'bits' on show like that! I always feel slightly self conscious. I've noticed that I don't like the crotch area of my pants (leggings, jeans, etc) to show either and I much prefer longer tops. I have refused to by tops that I really like because they were too short. This didn't used to be the case and I'm not sure when the shift happened. Do you have any habits like that?

Tapas and Wine? Yes, please!

This was an outfit I wore on a night out with a few girlfriends. We sampled some food at a tapas bar and enjoyed (too much) wine. I somehow managed not to end up with a nasty wine-hangover the next day so I was delighted with myself! I'm not sure why my blazer looks like it's really dusty in the front..I know it wasn't!! Maybe a spot on my camera? Hm...it has been a long time since I've worn heels that high (and they aren't even skyscraper height!) so my poor feet were in need of some tlc afterwards!

Tie it in a Bow

This is another top of mine I recently found tucked away in my wardrobe. It has some ruffles on the shoulders and little snaps going up the back. The weather is starting to get cooler here now so pretty soon I won't be able to take my photos outside anymore!

A Famous Wedding Guest

So here's the post that was meant to go up Saturday. I scheduled the wrong date when I originally did it..oops! As promised, here's my celebrity meeting! My brother-in-law got married a few weeks ago and Nicky Byrne from Westlife is married to his new wife's cousin. Now, for those of you who haven't heard of them, Westlife is probably the biggest boyband to come out of Ireland. When we discovered he was there we naturally insisted on getting a snap with him. He was actually lovely and really friendly! Oh and that room key in my bust is MINE..no pockets made me improvise ha ha!

 Everyone was amazed by my hair...and that it was all my own! No extensions here!

Butterfly Flutter

This top and the jeans are new purchases. I got a giftcard to Dorothy Perkins for my birthday from my mother-in-law. They have so much cute stuff in at the moment I was delighted! These jeans were a little pricey but my other black skinny jeans are looking a bit worse for wear so I thought I would splurge on a new pair!

Magic Spells...Oh Dear!

I've had this top since my hen party in Barcelona. I came across this shop, Stradivarius, and it was full of quirky, cute and reasonably priced lovely things! I purchased several things that I have come to really like for their uniqueness. Unfortunately, the label on all the clothes is just a simple treble clef so I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the shop for a really long time. Googling wasn't working for me either searching  'musical note clothing label Spain' but I finally clicked on my brain and replaced the musical note with treble clef and it was the first result! Yay I'm so happy I finally found the shop again! Now let's hope they still have some cool stuff :D

Bootcut & Birds

Not much styling in this outfit I'm afraid! Still enjoying nice weather (so the jeans were a mistake..I was roasting in them!). I usually only wear this top with skinny jeans to balance out the bagginess of it but I think it actually looks okay with my bootcut jeans as well. Next week I'll be posting about my brother-in-law's wedding and meeting a celebrity!! :D

It's Gonna Be A Lovely Day

I started back to work on Tuesday. This isn't the outfit I wore (this is from Monday) but I forgot to post it then. It feels good to be back to work actually although I missed Rory terribly. I'm lucky I got so much maternity leave to spend with him. The weather here has been fantastic the last few days so I've been running around with Bill Withers' song 'Lovely Day' in my head. Hope your part of the world is just as sunny!

Imelda May Concert

New location for a pic! The weather was much too bad to take it outside and my living room is currently flooded with baby gear...so upstairs to the baby's room I went! I am REALLY late in posting this outfit. I wore it to a gig in June to see Imelda May. She was fab (so I heard, I was so absolutely drunk I don't remember much of it!!). I had another dress in mind for the day but turns out my bust is still bigger than it used to be and it wouldn't zip up all the way. I think my hair did look great and I was super excited to wear it down for once!

Christening Day

My husband's cousin had her little girl christened recently and this is the outfit I wore. Unfortunately, due to the traffic and the insanely fast service the priest said, we actually missed the ceremony. We arrived at the parking lot of the church just as the last car (my in-laws) was leaving to head to the hotel where some refreshments were being served. Oops! We felt terrible for missing it but were assured that the ceremony lasted exactly 12 minutes and if we would have blinked we would have missed it! We enjoyed some yummy cake to celebrate at least :D

Lavender Spice

Another piece of clothing I recently discovered tucked away in my wardrobe! I got this cardigan quite a few years ago from ASOS. When it is buttoned up, it has sort of an hourglass look to it with the waist nipped in and the part above the hips flaring out. It looked really silly buttoned up with this top though! The top did have a bow sewed on to it (seen here) but one end unravelled and the other end with the safety pin kept poking me so I took it off. I think I like it better without it actually.

Run for the Border

This top was stuck at the bottom of my chest of drawers. I had actually forgotten I had it! I really like when I find something tucked away like that ;) Unfortunately it's hiding place had crinkled it a lot and since I wasn't going anywhere special, I didn't take the time to iron it. I didn't realise it was so see-through until I saw this pic! I was drawn to this top because of the shape and ease of wear and also the neckline and almost Mexican-style print on the border. As a bonus, you can see my lovely fuchsia hanging basket in bloom!

A Little too Light

As the title implies, I think this outfit is a little too light. I wanted to wear some bright jewellery to add some colour but everything I tried looked silly with the design of the top. I did wear big earrings though..which I should have gotten a better picture of :/ The camisole I'm wearing is a dark green colour and it was peeking out at the sides of the white top but I didn't get it in the photo. Rory is still teething and still driving me slightly insane as a result!! Stressed momma!!

The Animal Instinct

A day of hanging out with my little one. I have gotten into the bad habit of only wearing stud earrings for a really long time. I have LOADS of long earrings just waiting to be paraded out but for some reason I just stopped wearing them. It has been so long that I now feel like I look a little silly in such big earrings. My friends assured me that's not the case but I can't help it. I'm not used to seeing myself with such big ear decorations anymore! I am trying to break the habit and give my jewellery collection some more love. Is there anything that you've stopped wearing for a while and now feel a little silly when you do?

Paint Splatter Top

I have posted about this top before...maybe even this outfit actually! It is one of my favourite tops I own. I'm a big fan of comfortable clothes and this is soooo nice to wear. Not tight or clingy but it doesn't look like I'm trying to hide anything either (at least I don't think it does) even though it is loose and flowy. The long sleeved top is also in one of my favourite colour hues. And a rare time when my hair was left down! It didn't last long unfortunately but I made sure to get a pic before I had to put it up again :D

Mustard and Polka Dots

I sort of just quickly threw this together when I was rushing to get ready for the day. My dad, aunt, sister and brother-in-law were here (as I previously mentioned) and this was taken the day they arrived. So, I'm cheating a bit, I know...sorry...but I actually forgot I took it! They arrived bang on time (which never happens) so I was taking my time picking out something awesome. I think this turned out pretty good though I didn't have time to do anything with my hair.  We were off to dinner only a small time after I scrambled out the back to take this :D
