Fixer

I purchased this dress from ebay recently.  I was AGHAST to find that it had a tear....right in the front to the right of the bust.  I fixed it...and I think you really can't tell.  Yay for using sewing skills!  Just FYI the listing on ebay DID indicate the tear...I was just so excited to find a J. Crew dress for a good price I did not notice.  At least it's still good to wear.

I wore the fixed J. Crew dress with cap sleeve detail that I love with a Jones NY tweed blazer, Scarpasa wee wedges and J. Crew beads.

The 30 for 30 challenge from Kendi Everyday has started!  I am taking outfit pics and will unveil my choices shortly.  In the interest of full disclosure, I will be taking a 1 week break from the challenge over the week of 4th of July for some traveling ;).  

Music Monday

Today was a hectic day for me. Well, not hectic in the "I'm really busy" sense but hectic in the "I'm physically/emotionally tired and just want to stay home instead of doing stuff" sense. Hence, no outfit pic today. Enjoy some tunes and relax for the rest of your Monday!

Wine Tasting fun

Joshy and I traveled 40 minutes from our house on Saturday to Grace Hill Winery in Whitewater, Kansas.  For your Kansas natives it just Southeast of Newton.  We had a great time building our own wines.  Joshy made a red and I made a rose....mostly white wine with a bit of red.  I wore some MeToo wedges with a yellow shirt dress from Forever 21 and Indian style earrings from Target.

Shiny Happy Hair

I was particularly happy today because my hair looked pretty good! It has been a bit dull and flat lately no matter what I do with it. I think the changing weather isn't helping :( This is a bargain dress from River Island. I waited for it to go on sale and snagged it for 10euros! Delighted with myself that day :D It has ties at the neck but I never use them...I'm tempted to get rid of them but have to figure out the best way to do that before I go scissor happy!

Awkward & Awesome Thursday

I know we've missed a few weeks.  But I caught up on my reading of The Day Book this week, and I wanted get back on the Awkward & Awesome bandwagon.  Sydnei at The DayBook hosts Awkward & Awesome Thursdays.

Awkward

1) Reading one of your fave blogs and realizing that you missed something!  Now they're pregnant!  I really enjoyed reading Sydnei's The Day Book.  I guess I had missed it for a few weeks.  She must have announced somewhere in there that she's pregnant!

2) Forgetting your tripod.  I really enjoy stopping by Old Town here in Wichita on my way to work to take outfit pics.  Things were quite hectic for me for awhile there.  So I was taking my pics at home.  This morning I decided to buck the rend and take one in Old Town.  Alas, I forgot my tripod.  Not to be dissuaded from meeting my goal, I put my camera on a cement wall and made a go of it.  I think I got a few decent ones ;).

 

Awesome

1) Making your own wine!  Joshy and I are heading out to Grace Hill Winery tomorrow for the Make Your Own Wine event!  They will have barrels of their basic wines and we get to mix them to come up with our own signature house blend.  Speaking of...I need to send them a good picture of us!

2) Working from home.  Next week Joshy gets to work from home all week!  Joshy normally travels during the week Mondays through Thursdays.  I'm so excited to have him around all week!


3) Kendi Everyday's 30 x 30 challenge! Kendy's new 30 x 30 challenge will be starting June 13th which is this coming Monday!  Shea and I vowed that we would be much more careful choosing our items this time around.  So I will definitely be starting the choosing process tonight.  Shea is actually not going to participate this time around because she is coming to see ME!!! She is also coming for her sister's wedding...which will be cool.  But I ALSO GET to have an AWESOME time with her in LAS VEGAS!!!


4) Shea and I (and our hubbies) will be in Las Vegas in less than a month! 

Seeing Spots

This is also a new purchase. I was drawn to the pattern of this dress along with the cut/fit. It is tailored very well. With the weather being the way it is at the moment, I unfortunately had to wear a cardigan over it and the mac because it was raining! Looking at the pictures, I think my 'nude' coloured tights aren't quite matching my skin tone. They've since hit the bin thanks to a giant ladder that appeared up the side of my right leg...oops!
