Animal Print Pop

So remember I said I had 4 of the same style dress? Here's another version of the polka dot one from this post. I also had the button panel sewn shut on this one and probably should have tried it on before I did because it is a little tight despite being a bigger size than I normally wear. I found that all 4 of my dresses from Penneys are all different sizes!! Keeps life interesting I guess...grr...The headband was a gift from my sister and my hair actually looked WAY better in person!

Little Polka Dot Dress

This is one of 4 dresses I bought from Penneys that are all the same style but different designs. There are buttons up the front but I found that they pulled a little too much for my liking so I had my friend sew the panel shut. That seemed to to the trick! It also has pockets which I like on little summer dresses. I doubt I will get the chance to wear this without a cardigan or leggings anytime soon if the current weather persists but that's okay with me...I'm used to it by now ha! :D

Latest obsession - lime chicken tortilla soup

I have been so obsessed with this super easy chicken noodle - tortilla - lime soup.  I just take a can of Chicken Noodle Soup, I add lime juice, then microwave.  When it's done I tear up a tortilla in small pieces and add colby jack cheese.  It's so easy and delicious!

Out in the Haymarket

The other day I wore this bright pink J. Crew dress for a meeting in the Haymarket at the Starlight Lounge!  I added a few beads and black and white snake skin shoes by Milly.

Say a little prayer that the closing on my new house goes well! We are supposed to close 4/17/12 at 1pm on hour house in Eagle, Nebraska!

Chocolate Cupcakes

Hmm...well it's not the most inspired outfit and you've seen it before but I needed to do TONS of laundry and so this is what I ended up throwing on. Don't know if I need to lose a few more pounds or if the pose is just weird but my jeans look a bit tight here! Eeek! You'll notice I have finally found a replacement for my stinky nasty black flats from Dunnes (yay and eww!). These are from Penneys and actually cost more than the ones from Dunnes, go figure. They still aren't as good as the other ones but at least I have my basic black flats now :D

I also spent the afternoon making these yummy chocolate cupcakes while Rory was napping. I added a little bit of vanilla flavouring to the mix which I think helped them stay really moist. They were amazing if I do say so myself!

Enjoying the Sun!

As the title suggests, I am really enjoying the lovely sunny weather we have been having! It hasn't been warm enough to wear dresses and skirts with no leggings but I'll take what I can get. I hope you enjoyed the Easter weekend...I spent it relaxing with my family and eating too much chocolate :D

Travel style

I did not have the luxury of bringing many outfit options to Italy.  Knits and layers were a must! This is a print dress with black leggings, a scarf, and black cardigan from Dunns.  For some reason everyone in Italy was still dressing like it was winter! Especially in Rome.  They were still wearing winter coats, even though it could get up to 70 in the heat of the day.

Real life in Venice

We got back from 9 days in Italy last week.  One of my favorite things to do is discover how people life in different ways.  Venice is a great example of that.  In our experience people that live in the city actually have boats or ride in the water bus a vaporetto.

It seems like a lot of people in Venice work in the tourism industry.  Which may involve a lot of waiting!

There are a bunch of very wee alleys!

Very time we got on a vaporetto it seemed like someone had a friend to chat with! It seems like locals live in a very famous small town.

I don't envy having to cart a baby and their carriage onto the boats all the time though.

Banana French Toast - April Fools!

Happy April Fools Day! Hopefully no one pulls a fast one on you.

We had quite a few bananas that were almost over the hill.  I decided to mash them up and put them in with the milk, eggs, and cinnamon to make French Toast. We also cut some up and put them on top as we were frying them up. They were quite tasty!
