Out at the Park

Over the weekend we discovered the lovely Pioneer Nature center park.  It is in West Lincoln.  They have amazing pillars that look like an ancient ruin.  Apparently they were part of the Federal Reserve Building that was in Washington D.C. while Abraham Lincoln was president! He gave speeches during the civil war standing right next to those columns. 

I wore a Zara dress,  black Simply Vera leggings, and a black Mossimo shirt for the visit.

Our puppy Pistol decided she wanted to be in a few of the pictures :o).

Buttoned Up in White

I've had this top for quite a while. I liked the cool pattern on the front and that the buttons are all different. I bought it at River Island before it started to stock clothes that seem too "young" for me...even though I'm not that old! I just think I would look a bit silly in some of their stuff now. It's too fashionable for me perhaps!

Fabulous Friday

Jewel Tones

I bought this top from Warehouse and it was on sale at a drastically reduced price because there was a tiny hole right on the seam at the shoulder. I had my mother-in-law fix it with her trusty sewing machine and it is good as new! I LOVE the colour of this top. It is darker than it looks in the pictures. I wore this to celebrate my friend Gosia's birthday...it was a bit cold for a dress and I thought I made it dressier by adding the heels to the mix.

Long skirts with boots

The cold temperatures in Nebraska have required a bit of experimentation with boots.  I love skirts and dresses.   And now I have to wear them with boots.  I think the hemline of this skirt is a bit too low for the boots.  It seems like skirts should be above or below the top of the boot, but when they are the same it's a bit lame looking! 

I wore this Antonio Melani suit with a ruffled button up blouse. and black Anne Klein boots.

Mixing styles

I decided to pair the lovely French Connection dress that Shea gave me with black leggings and Simply Vera biker boots! I wore a cape from Kohl's for the trip over to the bar.  I LOVE the cape.  I'll definitely be wearing it more once things warm up a bit.  It wasn't quite warm enough for that night...as you can see by my red nose!

I'm not a huge fan of the biker boots + dress combo.  I'll probably stick with jeans with the biker boots in the future.

Color Squad

I felt quite colorful in this blue Express pencil skirt, Talbot's blazer with ruffles, and brown cowl neck sweater from Target.  For accessories I added fun circle gold earnings and necklaces from Premier jewelry.
