Detailed Plaid

This dress was hiding away in an overnight bag for ages..I was so happy when I finally found it! I waited for this to go on sale because when I first saw it I liked it but not for the price. Lucky me, my patience paid off! I sometimes wear a blue cardigan with it to give it more colour but I hadn't worn this white one in a while and I thought it needed a turn in the outfit carousel...though the sleeves are a lot tighter than I remember so I might be retiring it sooner than I hoped! The stud design on this dress is why I like it...I think it gives it a little something extra special.

Laid Back Monday

Okay I will have to do a little catching up here. I still have some pics from before we moved to put that I've finally been able to find, charge and connect my camera! Here is one such outfit. I was surprised this top still fit me in the bust but I have a sneaky feeling it might not now (only a few weeks later). I also cannot wear these skinny jeans anymore either...*le sigh*

Paula Deen

Shea mentioned at one point that she was cool with random cooking posts going up.  So here's one of my cooking projects of late.  I have loved listening to Paula Deen's Autobiography lately.  She is so funny.  I know that she uses to much butter and all.  But I just love how confident she is.  She has so much personality and is unapologeticly plump.  I tried her Deluxe Twice Baked Potatoes Stuffed with Shrimp not too long ago.  They turned out so well!  I actually even forgot to put in the 6 tb of butter and mayonnaise.  There is an adorable video of Paula and her husband Michael making these on Food Network's website.  I wish that Paula Deen was my Auntie!

I did 5 smallish russet potatoes.  I had so much extra inside goodness that I had to put a dollop on the cookie sheet for the second baking by itself.

Fabulous Friday

Once again, it is time to play "Give it a Miss, Give it a Go or Give it to Me" where I'll post pics of celeb outfits and you can tell me whether you wouldn't wear it (give it a miss), like it and might wear it (give it a go) or love it and want it (give it to me).
Here is this week's contender...Anne Hathaway! All pics taken from Go Fug Yourself and you should check out that site too...very witty stuff!

Sexy Stewardess

Today I wore a navy skirt that I purchased in New York with fun button detail with a creme polka dotted top and navy and creme polka dotted wedges.  I added my navy Ralph Lauren sports coat for work.  For accessories I kept it classy with my J. Crew pearls and pearl studs.  I seem to get in a rut with the pearls.  I'll have to try and bust something different out soon.  Today the comment at work was that I had a "sexy stewardess" look.  Hmm...not sure about that.

Musical Monday

It's lousy but I am STILL unpacking and I have managed to lose my camera battery charger in a random box somewhere. Since my camera is dead and I can't get the outfit pics I took before the move off...well you can see where this is going. I'm doing a dedicated search today and hopefully I will find the damn thing!

Brave move

Earlier this week I wore a horizontal striped cardigan and a black ruffled silk camisole.  I wore black pencil Victoria's Secret.  My Cole Haan shoes went well with the colors of the cardigan.  One of my bosses commented that I was very brave to wear horizontal stripes!  I don't think that horizontal stripes are too out there!

Boho Chic

On Friday I attempted a boho chic look.  I wore a gold medallion with a Simply Vera Wang orange dress that has an abstract print on the bottom.  I paired the dress with a Merino abstract yellow and creme print cardigan from Target.  I thought the Aerosoles pumps brought the chic level up a bit.  I also wore gold hoop earrings.

Today I received several comments that my look was very yachty.  I suppose I can see the nautical strips doing that.  This is a J. Crew blue linen blazer, striped pencil slacks, Aerosoles nude pumps, and nautical striped Tee, and J. Crew Pearls.

I also got my hair timmed by Christy Burnell at Salon Q in Wichita.  She really gets that I'm always seeking BIG hair with volume ;).  She does such a great job giving shape while not taking too much length.

Music Monday

So we have moved into our house! Excuse the lack of photos this week (and today) camera is somewhere in a box and I am still drained of energy. I did discover much to my dismay that I can no longer fit into my black Topshop skinny maternity jeans are on my 'to buy' list now! Will post up some pics of the new place soon. For now, enjoy some tunes from the UO Blog

Bow dress

Joshy and I went to a wedding reception over the weekend.  I wore a black satin dress with a bow on the front.  It was so comfortable!  This bow dress was purchased from the "store" of Pretty Penny blog.

Pants & Abstract Prints

Today I wore pants for the first time in at least two months and two prints together that seemed to be more solids than prints. I wore a Merona Yellow print cardigan from Target with a green and ivory silk camisole with fun lace detail and Victoria's Secret cigarette pants.  My shoes were patent leather T-strap Sofft heels.

Love is All You Need

This outfit was something I threw together quickly one morning since I was running a little late. I've never worn this tunic top over just leggings before. I bought it in Barcelona. I liked it mostly because of the girly lace hemline and the print on the front which says 'All you need is love.' It is also really comfy to wear and that's a major plus these days! You might have noticed the black couch has become red! Hubby decided to buy a cover for it to try to keep the cat from doing more damage. She was delighted with it and now sprawls herself out over the entire length of the seat to take her naps :D

Pastels and Prints

I purchased this Antionio Melani dress on ebay not long ago.  It is such a comfy knit that is also lined.  It even has pockets!  I felt it needed some pastel to make it summer-worthy.  I paired it with a pink tweed blazer from Gap and pink Nine West pumps.  I also added pastel purple accessories including a pendant necklace and stud earrings with amethyst stones.

Lazy Monday

Today was a Bank Holiday so I got to spend it lounging around with Hubby. Last night I went to my friend Alice's going away party. She is heading to Qatar to teach for the next two years. Can't believe she will be gone for so long!! I am really going to miss her :( Since I didn't do much today I didn't really get too dressed up. This is a new top that Angela bought me for my birthday. It is a bit see through so that's why I had to wear a top underneath. I love the pockets and the detailing in the back! I'm not sure how I feel about these jeans...I get the urge to get rid of them because I think they look odd in the inseam area but then when I wear a top that covers it, I don't mind them. So, for now I'm keeping them until I find a suitable replacement!
